This week is Dementia Action Week

Here at Greater Moments we wanted to recognise some of the amazing work of professionals, carers and people living with dementia in Greater Manchester.

A special thank you to our amazing Greater Moments champions for the dedication and passion they put in to Greater Moments and for going out of their way to attend our champion meetings to discuss the Greater Moments app. Sue has really helped us to understand how important it is for both carers and people living with dementia to realise that there are so many Greater Moments to be had after the diagnosis of dementia.

Thank you to the amazing Sue Metcalf and her family for your endless hard work and passion to improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.

Thank you to Julie Bentley, Bury Social Prescriber, who is our newest Greater Moments volunteer. Julie has already helped us to understand what it is like for people living with dementia in her local area and suggested great improvements and suggestions of events, services and features on the Greater Moments app.

A big thank you to Carole Seddon and her husband Tony Seddon for helping us to really understand what it is like for a person living with dementia and a family carer, giving us insight and knowledge of both Carole and Tony’s hobbies and what they enjoy doing in their free time. Tony has really helped us to understand the power of music for people living with dementia and the positive impact this can have on an individuals wellbeing.
